How to repair a broken clay pot with Sucs for You!
Most of my plants did fine when Hurricane Beryl came to town, but I was so bummed this super cool pot fell and broke. I did a bit of research and got some clear Gorilla Glue from Lowes and crossed my fingers that it would work. So far, so good!

I will bottom water to saturate the soil then place in a zipped baggie to keep the pot hydrated until after the germination. Hoping to see some sprouts soon! (CC) Plant Profile: Dorstenia bahiensis - a native to eastern Brazil rainforests. This is a THIRSTY plant in the Ficus family (Moraceae) with really nice shiny leaves and a very peculiar flower. Care tips: I water mine about 2x a week, and it receives a decent amount of bright indirect sun in a south-facing window but it would still be happy with less light. Thanks.i saw that glue in a store last week and wondered how good it would be. ,🇦🇺🐨🇦🇺
Welcome mate! 😊
I have two broken pottery vessels that need repair. Thank you so much.
I hope it works for you!
Good to know that glue does the job done. I threw away some pots cause the glue that I’ve tried before did not work. Thanks for sharing this!
Welcome!! I have a pot I threw away because I was so mad it broke. Now I'm mad I threw it away 😅
@@SucsForYou 😂
Hey thanks! I'm gonna buy that. I have a beautiful talavera pot that has a huge crack in it. I didn't want to throw it away, so I put foam and artificial flowers in it. Hopefully this does the trick and I can plant my succulents in it again! Thank you!
Welcome! I hope it works! If not the next step would be to try a ceramic epoxy - sounds like a great pot, don't give up!
Thank you so much for this video. Exactly what I needed today, since I saw something suspicious on one of my plants. Your pictures and up-close images are amazing! You likely have saved many lovely but infested cacti and succulents with this video!
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
Had had mine blooming and the plant is huge. It's has bloomed three or four times for me. I love the flower
It's crazy how huge they are!
Beautiful foliage! were you selling seeds?
No - I wish I had enough to spare!
Ok that's just gorgeous 😍

Exciting! They can grow really fast - mine 1 month after this vid: ruclips.net/user/shortsrJI4f3Dtngk
I have my lithops adapted to full, all day sun, as they are in the wild. That being said, you gave planted yours far more exposed than they are in nature. I'm sure you are aware they sit basically flush with the ground.
Yep it's severely humid here so potting so much of the body below the soil line can cause issues 🙏
Hi there! So happy to find this video, there are not too many that talk about this plant. I have a Dorstenia Elata, I believe, that was gifted to me. It was in a very deep plastic pot so i decided to re pot it to show that beautiful and weird trunk. Long story short its been about three months and she is still not happy. The original leaves have not perk up like they were, however there are small new leaves forming. I am not sure what the problem is. She is two feet from a south facing window, with fan ventilation 8-10 hours. The new pot is smaller and I used cactus soil. When I repotted I noticed the roots were long and plenty but I still stuck them in the pot. Maybe is that there is not enough room for the roots? I water it once a week, maybe is not enough? I will appreciate all your advice! Thanks and sorry for the long message.
Hmmm... I would try watering it more since it's in cactus soil if you're sure it's either elata or bahiensis. It's a good sign new leaves are forming though! Maybe it just needed some time to settle into its new pot. Why are you using a fan?
@@SucsForYou Hi, I have about 100 plants in that room. It faces the Florida south sun so it can get warm. I use the fan to keep the air flow and I read that plants love to receive the soft breeze. Anyhow, I checked her yesterday and I decided to repotted her to a bigger pot. I think it is too small and she is struggling. The new small leaves fell off too!
@@cucar8363 cool cool - good reasons to use a fan. Hopefully repotting does the job!
Thank you❤ my chandelier plant is up to breaking the roof🙈
That sounds awesome!
@@SucsForYouit grows indoors so that sounds terrifying for me😅
Neat little weirdo flowers, I love it! 💚
The flowers are so wild!!! The leaves are like nothing else I have in my own collection. I’m sitting here thinking about what I have and none of them have shiny leaves…what a beauty
Thanks for watching chica!

So nice 💞 💞💞💞💞💞
Oh you have many which I wanted to get as seeds, got new ideas as well, hopefully still can sprout something this summer
You can do it!
Gorgeous little cuties!! 💚
Magnificent blooms and fitting music!! 👍👏💚
Gratzi!
I had mosquito in a half a watermelon two days after leaving it out for the birds to eat the remnants from. Disgusting. We have from what I can tell here two kinds. One has white dots on it and when they get me I have to get the bath and soak. It’s the only thing that eases that actual pain and intense heat and itch. Gross.
DID YOU HEAR ME GASP when you knocked your Frailea on the edge when you were showing the teeny seed pods? I GASPED. Your bebes are so precious so teeny but also so grow-y!!! That copiapoa is just too much, love it love it love it. I’m so glad to see the family all growin’!! Thank you thank you!! GOOD LUCK!
😅 Ooopsay!
That plant has superpowers. It must!!
For real! As soon as all the flowers are done, it's already putting out new buds!
Fetch them out of the compost & clean away old dead debris. The replant it. They don't mind being replanted. DON'T OVER WATER - they go all wrinkled and 'rot off'
I have never seen one with that many blooms.
I never knew that they would grow so large in such a small pot. Do you fertilize?
The seedlings were at the base of the big plant: ruclips.net/video/apj2LE0c-LA/видео.html
But I'm in a 2season region, rainy season and summer, this is complicated
Those babies look like a doll house size version of the big one!!! Stay little, Littles! But also grow very big. K?
My husband recommended potting it up but putting it back in the pot with momma and I think that's the sweetest 🥹 I hope I made the right decision and they do okay!
Oh I bet that’s going to be just precious to watch over time.
When was this video recorded? In learning about the plants blooming cycle? Do you ever fertilize this type of plant?
1. Today. 2. What? 3. No. But you can and maybe should if it needs it.
I hope we can those buds bloomed. ☺
But of course! Stay tuned 😉🥰
Hi from Alabama!! I've really enjoyed your videos & finally got a few succulents of my own, more as an experiment because I tend to have a black thumb!! Also, for the time being, I will have to try growing them in the house. So,I got some grow lights and am quickly learning that each species has it's own preferences as far as watering & lighting, etc, They remind me of people in that way. You have certainly expanded my horizons as a disabled person & I thank you for that & all of the great tips that you share!!
Howdy! I'm very glad to hear you picked up some grow lights! Don't worry, we all have a black thumb with some plants, but it's all about doing the research, and here you are doing just that 🫶🏽 If you're growing mostly indoors, you will need some pretty strong lights to get the job done for a lot of succulents, but most require either quite of bit of light or a big daily dose. There are many more forgiving sucs like Haworthias and Sansevierias that don't require as much light as Echeverias or cacti. I just don't want you to go on a spree buying plants that you don't have the right light to keep in good form (done that! 😅). I have a lot of info on light and grow lights in my book, The Succulent Manual. And it will answer most of your questions, often in the order they arise, especially for someone newish to succulents 🙏 Ton of info on my website as well @ sucsforyou.com/ I hope to hear more about your succulent adventures!
I strongly second getting yourself Andrea’s book! You won’t find one as approachable, useful and lovely to interact with. It will truly and honestly be such a resource for you on your road to being a confident plant parent. ❤❤
Hi from the United Kingdom Andrea. I only got into succulents in the last few weeks and found your channel while researching how to look after all the leaf cuttings I’ve brought. I really enjoy your videos, it feels like visiting a very good friend and talking plants. Thank you.
Welcome to the wonderful world of succulents! I'm glad you found my channel and yes, I do feel like I'm chatting with friends! I appreciate your kind comment and wish you all the best!

All I know about patience is from growing succulents 😅🙏
Beautiful plants, the garden was beautiful, the plants are full of worms, you can spray the insecticide in a small way, nice sharing ❤❤
These are not worms. They are butterfly caterpillars. Will not be spraying them!
@@SucsForYou ok,sorry 😍
I can barely take my dog out on the grass with here … I get swarmed on grass. Concrete is almost as bad.
I swear The Heights is extra bad. I won't even go up there in summer.

Fascinating vid!! I love the world of bugs.. 🐛💚👍
They like dill too! 💗🐛However it might be too hot for that …
And center pointless 🤣🤣d@mn
I got some! Thanks for mentioning the heat - I will keep it in the shade but they'll probably eat it all today 😅
My new rue plant died. I think I overwatered it but I did have swallowtail caterpillars on both my parsley and dill this year. Had 19 monarch caterpillars on my one milkweed plant and had to go buy more plants for them to feed on. We were finding the beautiful green chrysalises all over my patio, on the furniture and plants. How exciting!
Oh neat! Monarchs stress me out 😅 Only bc they eat SO much! But totally worth seeing their gorgeous jade/gold chrysalis'!
Just had my first and my bestie told me..make your research because mine died! and so i did lol ... its so cute this lil dude. ..i named mine Coffee bean . i hope to gave it a nice life.
Bestie with that sage wisdom! And best of luck with lil Bean!
I'm glad I saw this video. I feel my lithop was trapped inside its own dead skin LOL. I peeled the Dead Leaf away and hope that it will grow more.
Pretty neat to see all that new growth, right? Best of luck!
Lmfao!!!! Gurl how stoned were you?? 😂❤ Handsome moth was like "sup, babe" 😅

So beautiful! Thanks for sharing. I haven't read all the comments but im sure someone also was curious as me about the moth and I read they pollinate the flower Pretty awesome
Nocturnal pollinators usually go unseen! Oddly I've noticed a LOT of various 'night moths' around certain plants in the evening lately. Like more than ever - it's really neat!
